Planning my next get away.

Hello all.
It's been ages since I've been here and probably the same for you.

Life back home in Omaha is the same and different. I dream of being back in Paris almost every night and ache for my beloved city, daily.

I will be applying to go back to France soon. When I am accepted, my departure date will be towards the end of May. I will only be gone for 6-8 weeks this time around but then the next time I leave after that, will Lord willing, be for good.

I pray in this time that I meet my man. Someone who loves travel as much as I do and thinks it's an important aspect to living a fulfilled life.

France is calling, it's time for me to go "home."

I'm home.Life is the same but different

Yes, I definately feel different. It's unexplainable. It's not like moving back from another city in the U.S. either...It's way different from that.

Ex:
-I didn't want to cook in my kitchen because it felt weird to be in there.
-the 1st 2 days with my dog were weird not lovey like I thought.
-seeing friends is great and good but I feel much quieter, like I know something that they just can't understand so why even talk about it?
-I don't really feel like eating.
-The food I was excited to eat doesn't taste nearly as good as I remembered it.
-The bed I was so excited to sleep in feels weird and adds to my insomnia.
-working...well, I knew that would be hard to come back to because I haven't worked in 6 months!

I'm getting there and re-adjusting. Some people think it's like sliding into an old pair of shoes but it's not. It's more like buying a new pair of your favorite old shoes and hoping they feel just as comfortable but they just don't.

Miss my Frenchies but love my oldies,
-R

5 June and 3 days to go!

Well, I've been trying to post this really cute video that was supposed to be the opener for Pere Lachaise but this site isn't loadin it so ...maybe later?

Today I will attempt the Catacombs. I stayed in yesterday, just to hace a chill day and read and re-packed. Gotta go to the poste and pray it's not gonna cost too much to send some of my stuff home.

Got to see my Choky yesterday via skype.. At first she looked mad and then she looked sad and confused. She could hear my voice but she couldn't see me. I was told that just after we got off skype, Choko ran to her suitcase...I'm thinkin' she's ready for Mama like Mama is ready for her!

Well, off to conquer some more of Paris and get a fresh baguette, one can never have too many fresh baguettes.

See you soon!

Paris, France Wed. 3rd June 2009

It's about 1:30 in the afternoon. You're probably wondering what I'm still doing inside. Well, I've had a terrible bout of insomnia since arriving to Paris. Maybe it's my internal clock preparing for my jetlag?

Yesterday was wonderful. Today my plans are to go to Pere LaChaise (the link will tell you all of the famous peeps buried there!) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C3%A8re_Lachaise_Cemetery
and also the Catacombs.

I will, of course, be posting more photos of these places later! so stay tuned!
Have a wonderful day!
See you soon!!
