Wow, it's already Saturday
Hello my dear readers,
Sorry for the lack of interesting things to read. As of late, I have been busy travelling and getting well after getting a travelling cold.
Didn't have much internet access while in the U.K. but now!!! Yayee! I'm home, in my beloved France!
I took about 280 photos while on holidays and have a few video snips for you too! Be patient, I'm loading them now!
Gros bisous,
R

a girl ought to know her limits by the age of 32
ok. i'm not 32 just yet but...
i am exhausted. in dublin but unfortunately have only managed to see a portion of the city and mostly my hostel bed.
i'm an only child and used to being alone. i crave my alone time i may be around the sweetest people in the world but after 4 days...they all get on my nerves. if this is you and you're reading this..please don't take it personally.
i'm used to having ample amounts of alone time when i want it, how i want it. i usually only go on vacations for no more than 5 days and spending the last 5 days with 6 other people is ENOUGH....
I don't even think I'm gonna go out tonite. I just need alone time with a book and some quiet.....urrggh..
I know, I know..I'm in Dublin..But this girl knows her limit and has Mos' Def reached it.

quick update
i'm on a really crappy computer in a really great hostel in glasgow, scotland. this place doesn't really pull at my heart strings like france and it actually took me a little while to warm up to the idea of being here but after i saw the necropolis and rode a double decker bus...the city is slowly winning me over.
tomorrow i go to edinburgh for the day and then ireland on monday!
i'm actually anxious to get back to france...the place that feels like home.
today we went to a tiny town called balloch where we saw a castle and went to the seaside. it was beautiful. i took tons of photos and got some video for you too! i'm really excited to post the videos for you..just breathtaking.
...and for those of you who knew me in my goth days, the necropolis was frickin' awesome, awesome, awesome! i thought maybe a vampire would jump out to complete the best cake!
gotta run, have 3 minutes left..
btw...the UK is SUPER expensive. just mulitply the dollar by two...
peace and hair grease.

Scotland! Ireland! Here I come!
I've been really tired today. Wednesday seems to be the magic day of sleepyness.
I live for Scotland tomorrow and am super excited! After, we will travel to Dublin for a couple days before returning to Amiens.
I'm sad to leave Morrocan man but happy for new experiences in Britain!
Kinda have a headache at the moment. I won't have my laptop with me so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to blog while I'm gone. But I will return on the 26th of Feb. How time is really flying....
Bonne Nuit mes amis!

Mardi, le 17e.
Today I got up to go to class...My professor is still on strike so no class today. I joined a couple of friends to go downtown to a demonstration. It was pretty kool. A professor had been torn on whether to teach her class or demonstrate so she decided to teach her class outside, downtown as a form of demonstration. Very kool.
After that, we went for quiche and tea. This tea shop is amazing. It's called Alice Anne and it's seriously the best tea I've ever ever had (and I LOVE TEA).
I'm going to rest for a bit and then work on my translation homework for tomorrow...Probably spend some time with Moroccan et c'est tout. I would like to write blogs in French but I'm afraid most of you would not be able to understand. Mais, C'est la vie..d'accord.
J'ai besoin d'une sieste!

Day trip and my weekend.
This evening as I was walking home from my friends dorm, after studying, I realized just how happy I am to be here. I'm in France! A life-long dream accomplished at every second of every day that I am here. I have ALWAYS wanted to live in France and now I am doing it. What an amazing feeling to be accomplishing such a grand goal.
I spent my friday in Rouen which is located in the region of Normandy. It was a quaint little French town with a lovely cathedral. That seems to be the thing to do when you travel to a city here, you must check out the cathedral.
We also went to check out a photo exhibit by Philippe Bazin http://www.museeniepce.com/expositions/expositions_right.php?code_expo=bazin&lang=us
His photography was amazing but there was also something about it that made me quite naseous. Anyway, hope you enjoy the link.
We also did some shopping and had lunch at this great Crêperie.
Saturday I rested and today I listened to a sermon by my pastor on-line then had brunch for dinner with my friends, spent time with Morrocan man, and did my homework for tomorrow.
I don't have class until 2pm which is why I'm up late posting this.
I hope you enjoy the photos!

My Niche
It seems now that I am growing more comfortable in my new home with new friends and things to discover, I have less time to actually be in my dorm, which is good for me but bad for my blog.
It's snowing again in Amiens. I have scheduled a day trip to Rouen for tomorrow but with the snow, I'm not sure my friend will want to drive.
Classes are going well. I'm understanding French more and more. My French conversation is better but still has LOADS of room for improvement.
I have lots of stories but I'm not sure what to share here and what to keep private (or for my book).
So maybe you can give me some feedback and tell what you'd prefer to read about???
It's almost 4am so I am going to bed. If we go to Rouen we are leaving around 9am so sleep is important.
I guess I will share with you that I have met a Morracan man who is very sweet and gentle and kind. I'm not sure what else to say. I could honestly write pages and pages about it but I'm not sure I want to....just yet.

ohh, I've been bad at writing
Hello!
I am so sorry I haven't been here for awhile, I was so busy in Paris. I have lots of photos I will post tomorrow.
Not only was I busy with Paris but I've been working hard on my French with a sweet Moraccan man....yeh, that's all I'm gonna say about that.
am totally exhausted, have travelled so much in the last few days. I need a good rest.
I hope you are all well and happy.
Yesterday marked my one month anniversary away from home and in my new home of France. Definately more adjusted and comfortable, less homesick but of course, I still miss my baby every day.
God Is Great! God Bless.

My pillow, the President and the Africans...
I awoke in the middle of the night last night and thought my pillow was Choko..so naturally I gently hugged it the way I hug her in the middle of the night, after a moment or two, I realized my Choko was actually my pillow and got very upset...
I met these 2 guys from Senegal who are total sweethearts, twins, and fans of yours truly.
Last night, they asked me what room number I stayed in and about 45minutes later they delivered a full meal to me including great jokes (in french) and funny phone photos.
They returned just moments ago, one asked me to the movies and the other, well both of them, invited me to a party happening tomorrow night. When the first introduced himself to me he said his name was Obama and then said "Yes, we can" his twin brother replied, "No! We can't" they are hilarious together.
Anyway...got a massage today. They do it a little different here. I didn't have to fill out any health questionnare and I've never had a massage where they take the blanket/towel off of you and leave you totally in the buff. It was a new and pleasant experience. I rescheduled.
Tonite, I think I'm going back to the Retro bar for more Jazz music and the best beer ever Piecon Bierre. It's sooo Fricken good!
Paris is this weekend and I'm excited if you can't tell. How kool is that. Ha!
ok, I'm outti.

And Hello to you..Btw, I appreciate comments!
Yesterday was wonderful. My friend Jenny and I caught the train to Paris around noon. I was unable to go to Le Louvre because my rehearsal began at 2pm and the train to Paris takes one hour and then the train to my destination took another 45minutes, but that is okay.
My friend, Franck Leibovici is a great artist. Very clever and creative..I’ve never (to my knowledge) met an artist quite like him. I can’t even begin to describe his medium or even what his pieces consist of but the particular piece I’m participating in is a mini-opera. His goal was to get people who could NOT sing to participate but…well, I’m here and I wanted to be part of it and he offered, so there you have it.
The piece consists of words that we all sing, choosing whichever note we like and then passing the note on to someone else by walking up to them, they take my note, I take theirs..I really don’t want to say too much about it for fear of doing him and his art an injustice..But he’s very creative and very humble about his work.
I feel so lucky to be able to participate in something he’s created and do it in PARIS!!! Also, another plus, one of my favorite musicians is responsible for putting the show together. Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth (favorite Band)! He was present yesterday but I didn’t get to formally meet him because we were all there for business, he was getting his piece together and Franck and his choir were practicing our piece.
After rehearsal, we all had champagne, joked (mostly in French) and then Franck took a group of us home or to wherever we were to rendezvous. On the way he drove me past Le tour Eiffel and other amazing landmarks. Have I mentioned how amazingly magical and beautiful Paris is at night? I’m in love! Franck, Maxime and I met up with my friends, Jenny and Greg and ate at the yummiest Indian restaurant. Then us 3 Americans had to hop on the train back to Amiens.
Today, I woke up to snow and no class because the professors are on strike. So, I’m gonna do some laundry, write some postcards and clean.
C’est touts!
