And Hello to you..Btw, I appreciate comments!

Yesterday was wonderful. My friend Jenny and I caught the train to Paris around noon. I was unable to go to Le Louvre because my rehearsal began at 2pm and the train to Paris takes one hour and then the train to my destination took another 45minutes, but that is okay.

My friend, Franck Leibovici is a great artist. Very clever and creative..I’ve never (to my knowledge) met an artist quite like him. I can’t even begin to describe his medium or even what his pieces consist of but the particular piece I’m participating in is a mini-opera. His goal was to get people who could NOT sing to participate but…well, I’m here and I wanted to be part of it and he offered, so there you have it.

The piece consists of words that we all sing, choosing whichever note we like and then passing the note on to someone else by walking up to them, they take my note, I take theirs..I really don’t want to say too much about it for fear of doing him and his art an injustice..But he’s very creative and very humble about his work.

I feel so lucky to be able to participate in something he’s created and do it in PARIS!!! Also, another plus, one of my favorite musicians is responsible for putting the show together. Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth (favorite Band)! He was present yesterday but I didn’t get to formally meet him because we were all there for business, he was getting his piece together and Franck and his choir were practicing our piece.

After rehearsal, we all had champagne, joked (mostly in French) and then Franck took a group of us home or to wherever we were to rendezvous. On the way he drove me past Le tour Eiffel and other amazing landmarks. Have I mentioned how amazingly magical and beautiful Paris is at night? I’m in love! Franck, Maxime and I met up with my friends, Jenny and Greg and ate at the yummiest Indian restaurant. Then us 3 Americans had to hop on the train back to Amiens.

Today, I woke up to snow and no class because the professors are on strike. So, I’m gonna do some laundry, write some postcards and clean.
C’est touts!
